This project, developed in collaboration with the Gestamp Group and Tecnalia and Autotech Engineering technology centers, aims to manufacture certain large automotive components (called extreme parts) through the application of new technologies and the use of new materials.

In particular, the reference piece in the development of the project is the door ring, for which it is wanted to achieve larger sizes and more integrated models, at a lower production cost.

This requires a new hot stamping process, for which a modular static oven is designed, composed of several independent chambers, as well as a loading machine, adapted for large formats and tight cycle times.

This project, EXTREPA, has been co-financed by the SPRI, Business Development Agency of the Basque Government.
